Over the past several months a number of new applets have been added to Das Keyboard Q Software, further improving the Das Keyboard Q RGB smart keyboards‘ versatility and ability to centralize numerous tasks and RGB notifications into a single control panel, your keyboard. The newest Q applets include Discourse, Jenkins, Flight Price Watcher, Das Ping, and Bamzooka.
Discourse
The newest applet to launch on Das Keyboard Q software is the Discourse Q applet. Discourse is a real-time discussion platform used to manage all conversations about a topic in a thread. It can be operated as a discussion forum, long-form chat room, mailing list, and much more. This community management tool is well structured, well-monitored, and highly customizable to all sizes of organizations.
The Discourse Q applet allows administrators of a Discourse community to receive notifications by setting a key to blink when there are new notifications available. This applet will give admins the freedom to close their community window, and simply press the Q button to view notifications at their leisure.
Jenkins
Jenkins is an open-source automation server with over a hundred plugins. It helps accelerate the complete software development life cycle. It offers continuous integration solutions that allow businesses to build, test and deploy projects rapidly automatically.
The Jenkins Q applet was contributed by a developer in the Das Keyboard community, created to display Jenkins job status in RGB notifications on Q keyboards. If your job passes the designated key will show green, and if it failed it will display red.
Flight Price Watcher
The Flight Price Watcher Q applet analyzes flight prices and changes the color of the designated key on the keyboard according to the maximum price entered, so travelers can pick up a ticket without breaking their budget.
Das Ping
Das Ping is another community-contributed applet that consistently checks a site’s ping time, and changes the color on the selected key based on the reaction time. The Q software notification also will also show the date and time when the ping was checked.
Bamzooka
Bamzooka is a platform to help teams to organize their workflows and document processes by creating reusable checklists that can be scheduled and assigned to team members. Project progress can be monitored in real-time, allowing teams to increase productivity and get more work done in less time. The Bamzooka Q applet will notify team members if their project is at risk of missing its due date, or if any assignments are late.
Das Keyboard and contributors in the community continue to add Q applets to the integrated software to connect those applications directly to your keyboard, making information gathering easier than ever. Adding these and many other Q applets to your Das Keyboard Q series keyboard is an excellent way to improve your productivity by limiting day-to-day disturbances and turning your keyboard into the control room for your work and life.
